I have an oppurtunity to buy a 4006, 1 owner, but it has 6 8/32 tapped holes on the front of the frame. Will this weaken the frame, should I stay away from it, any way to repair it, what do you think? These were put in for a red dot sight at some point.

I would not be afraid of the gun....whoever had the gun with the aimpoint/red dot shot it. Just because the mount and sight are not on the gun doesn't weaken it.
Cosmetics are not that big a deal to me. Gives me the opportunity to mount an optical sight on it like its previous owner did without having a gunsmith drill and tap for me.
If the holes bother you, put the correct screws into it to fill the holes. Just MY thoughts...

I don't think that these would create any problems with the structural integrity of the frame but they sure don't do any favors for the aesthetics of the gun either.

It is nothing but a shooter now, and I would haggle on price accordingly. I have seen a lot of 4006's that were LEO trade-ins in good shape selling in the vicinity of $350. I would hesitate paying anything over $300 to $325 for this one.

It never ceases to amaze me what some people will do to a fine firearm. About the same thing as trying to turn an Escalade into a low-rider.

While the structural integrity shouldn't really be affected (the 4006 is a very tough gun), I would personally pass on this 4006. There are too many nice 4006's out there to deal with what was done to this one cosmetically. Unless it was for a really great price, that one would be a no go for me.

I can pick it up for $200. Thats the only reason I'm considering it.

Agreed. $200 makes it a good deal. $250 or more and I would pass for sure. I would just leave the holes as is.
