I say this because they were the last models produced and have innovations beyond those on the TSW models.
Features unique to the 4006TSW CHP:
Integral rail – in lieu of the riveted on rail used by most TSW's, the CHP specified an integral rail. The integral rail was only produced on a few other models by special order or contract.
Unique de-cock only body. It does not have a hole for the safety lever plunger/spring. Instead, the body has an indent on the far side that a plunger installed under the rear sight clicks into. If the de-cock lever spring ever fails, the de-cock lever can be manipulated to operate as a manual safety.
No trigger play spring - reduces maintenance associated with replacing a non-essential part of the trigger mechanism and eliminates the potential for a malfunction caused by broken spring debris.
Scalloped front strap - if a magazine failed to drop freely the scallop at the bottom of the front strap could be used to manually strip the magazine from the pistol.
Machined barrel lower lug recess - this feature is machined just forward of the feed ramp and seems unique to the CHP pistols; its purpose is not known at this time.
Stainless steel recoil guide rod - increase guide rod robustness and service life. Specified by the CHP but available for use on other 4006 models.
Features unique to the 4040 AirLite PD:
Scandium alloy frame.
40S&W Caliber engineered into a 3913NL size frame and slide.
Magazine has a spring-loaded ball plunger in the right side of the follower to ensure that the slide locks back when the last round has been fired.
All were produced with the de-cock only slide modification should one want to install the de-cock only assembly.
Not much left to add except night sights on both and the de-cock only assembly to the 4040.
