I grabbed one last week. Holster wear, but otherwise solid internals. Mine looked barely shot.

Just a word of caution - the pistols offered by King's Firearms are NOT the CHP model with the integral rail and other enhancements. Make sure this is what you really want before purchasing...

The 4516-1 I purchased from King firearms had a broken side plate assembly. Just sayin

I bought mine off GB. $399 bid plus shipping. Serial# CHP747x. Picked it up today at my dealer. Very nice with limited exterior wear. Does anyone know how to find out the actually CHP history of this individual firearm? Maybe the officer who carried it last so I can thank them for taking such good care of it. Or maybe just where I can get a letter from CUP on the last district where it served?

Summit Gun Broker has them listed for $385 with 2 mags for the CHP 4006TSW

I bought one from Summit. Great place - sent pics of actual gun I was buying... Pre Corona.. he may be really busy now.

No regrets other than now I want a 3rd gen 45...

I bought one from Mark at Summit. He is very good to work with. Mine exhibited little external wear but was dirty; that was no big deal as cleaning one is not a chore. I'd recommend Summit for as long as they have them.

I liked the first one so much I purchased a second.

Both are from Kings Firearms. I didn't like the looks of the CHP rail plus I wanted a hammer spur.

The one wearing bike inner tube was first purchase. Grip is worn (new one on way) and there's scuff marks on it but 'wow' what a hunk of steel :D. Second one same way. Only 302 pistols between them.

New spring kits are also in order. Most likely will send sights back to Trijicon for relamping. Other than that I have 2 solid shooters. :D

Edit-can anyone tell me why the picture came out so small :o

Are those black anodized aluminum rails, riveted to the
dustcovers--or is it just the lighting in the pic?
I don't believe those are CHP models because the serial number doesn't start with CHP.
The rails look they're black to me.

No. Both start with BDJ. From what I've read(anyone please correct me if I'm wrong) CHP was the only agency to have the integral rail although the riveted rails were made around the same time.
From what I understand if it doesn't have CHP in the front of the serial number it's not a CHP 4006 pistol.( somebody correct me if I'm wrong)
