A friend of mine has a 4006tsw (series 1?) for sale with about 200 rounds of ammo, 50 rds are defensive hp rounds. 2 10 rd magazines. It is lightly used, with box and all originally supplied contents. Probably only a few hundred rounds shot, he is mainly a rifle shooter. He wants $750. That sounds high to me, but I do live in the past, when there was some kind of sanity involved in gun pricing. Is that a deal, just ok, or high? I mainly buy older guns, so this one has me puzzled.

That sounds maybe just a little high, but depending on the quality of the ammo, not by much. I would offer $650 but be prepared to go to $700. If you really like and want it, don't let the price stop you. Years from now, you won't remember "paying too much"! The TSW's are very nice, well built, quality guns.

Sounds high to me too, & if you've ever seen any of my posts, you know I'm a sucker for TSW's! I would see if he will sell it without the ammo, maybe offer him $600. 40S&W isn't that hard to find these days. TSW's, unfortunately, seem to me to be getting few & far between. Box & all? Sweet! If your looking into getting the 4006TSW, I recommend surfing THR auction websites for comparable prices. I think if it really is almost new, it probably is close to $750, maybe, but there are lots others that pop up frequently on gun broker or other sites, in similar shape for @ $500-650.

I would pay it in a minute. Check some of the auction sites and look at what an ANIB 4006TSW is going for. They are not cheap. If it truly is in top notch condition, I would say it isn't a bad deal. In my opinion we are all holding on to what the 3rd gennies USED to sell for. You could probably find a beater online for $300-$400, but who really wants to do that? Not I. Fact is 3rd gennies are sky rocketing in price. I would maybe negotiate with him a little, but don't let it ruin the sale. You'll be glad you did in the end.

Agreed. I've got a non-TSW 4006 that was a police trade-in. Great shooter, but a bit beat up, I paid $350 for it almost 10 years ago. If it is that nice I think it's worth it.

Thanks for all of the responses. You have pretty much confirmed what I thought about the price. I will wait and see if it sells quickly; if not, maybe I will make an offer. For some reason I have never gotten on the .40 bandwagen, so this would be a first .40 cal. Will need to think about how much I want to start up with yet another cal.

I just found out that it sold. The ammo and gun were sold independently, not sure of the price point. Thanks!
