4013 vs 4053

Except for the SA/DA vs. DAO are they the same pistol? the reason I ask is I have a 4053 on the way and I am holster shopping. thanks

Yes sir the same frame no hammer spur. Holster should be exactly the same for both. Good pistol a candidate for a trigger job. Also just shoot it in. Wayne Novak Parkersburg WVa. he has a web site can make it like silk. (Novak's )

It's hard to believe there are so many S&W 3rd gen owners out there.I thought i was going crazy for buying one.I have a 4046 .40 cal and love it.If you are looking for a holster for your's try going through a site i use is www.packinheatleather.com.

It depends. AFAIK, the earlier model of the 4013 (single-stack) is not the same size as the 4053. The later model of the 4013 (double stack) is, AFAIK, the same size as the 4053.

I eyeballed the two models of the 4013. The earlier model has a longer slide and barrel, but appeared to be the same width at the top as the later model.

People on this forum have stated that the earlier model of the 4053 is based on a 4516 frame and slide and that the later model is based on the 6906 slide and frame.
