Got rid of my Glock 27 because it jus tdidn't feel right in my small hands. I was thinking of getting a Smith 4013 or preferably a 4053 ( i like the dao). Are these reliable? Do the alloy frames hold up? Thanks in advance

i have a 4053tsw pre-rail i love it. but...theres always a but isn't there?i hate the mag-disconnect.
if i could get rid of that, the 4053tsw would be the ultimate carry gun imho. .40 cal power, great trigger, light weight. with the night sights she makes a wonderful companion.
as far as durability..mine hasn't been fired a lot. it was a police trade-in.

I have a single stack 4053, and a double stack pre-rail 4053TSW. These are both great pieces, though I prefer the double stack version.

I also have a pre-rail 4056TSW, and a Shorty Forty, so it should tell you what I think of this series...

BTW - I much prefer DAO 3rd Generation S&W's as well, and have 10 or more in various flavors...though the Shorty Forty is a sweet piece...

I have an early single stack 4053. These are great pistols, very accurate, easy to carry and mine has been totally reliable and durable so far. It was a police trade in so no idea how many total rounds fired but I've put about 1500 through it. The DAO trigger is exceptionally smooth, and short, in this model. I easily prefer it over any Glop.
