I have a 40c and I wa thinking about trading it for a 9c. What's yalls opinions of both guns?
Wait, I thought you have to get the conversion barrel for the 40c to go 9mm. You are saying all that is needed is the regular 9mm barrel?I'd drop a factory 9c barrel in your 40c and have both guns. Get new 9mm mags if you want the last round to fire and not lock open the slide.
Factory barrels are about $65.

will the conversion work the other way around? dropping a stock 40c barrel into a 9c and just buying the mags?
damn, I've been waiting for weeks for the Storm Lake conversion barrels to come back into stock when I could have just ordered the regular one now for less than half the price!

Yeah, I thought I had read elsewhere in this forum that you couldn't just put the factory 9mm barrel in the 40c. I'll have to do a search again. Also, wouldn't there be an issue with the recoil spring? It's weighted for the .40 cal round, not the 9mm, so I would think it would be too heavy for the 9mm.

So are you saying I can use the factory .40 mags and they should work with the 9mm ammo with the exception of what you said? My 9mm bullets pop right out of the top of the magazine. I have to load one in the barrel at a time right now. I didn't buy any 9mm mags.
I got my barrel in today and everything went perfectly. Shot great.
