40VE sight issue FIXED!!!!!!!

I love this pistol. But I was having a problem with it shooting 4" low and 2" left.

I own quite a few DAO pistols so I was a little confused with this issue. It would pattern nicely. But the POI was not right. Well after trying multiple brands and grains of ammo. I decided to send it back to S&W. I have read a few threads by other Sigma owners with the same problem. So I thought I would share the cause.

What S&W found was that when my front sight was melted on. That white crap had built up under the sight and had caused it to slightly raise, and slant slightly to the left. They replaced my front sight and went through all the internals. I got the Sigma back and it is a tack driver now. Turn around time was 8 days door to door.

That is why I will not buy another Taurus. I purchased a .38 in March. The cylinder binded out of the box.
I sent it to Taurus 1 month after I purchased it.
They are about to start thier SEVENTH week of possesion. They said in my last call that they may get to look at it next week!

My next purchase was a Walther P22. Love that thing!! Then I purchased this Sigma.
I like this new trend I have started!!

Smith and Wesson is the reason I purchased the Sigma.
I had heard some bad things on line.
I had also heard that those things had been corrected by S&W in the later models.
Either way I felt that I had somebody standing behind the handgun to make sure it performed properly! I have also heard times where shipping took longer than the actual repair time!
That is the way to build a reputation and win new lifetime customers!!

JJ, You are the third person I have heard that has had issues with Taurus' customer service / warranty. I personally have never owned a Taurus so I can't comment.

Mistakes happen!
How you correct the mistakes creats your reputation.
I hope I never have to try S&W's warranty/ customer service!
But I am confident that if I do, they are going to do everything they can to make it right!

Well then, cross your fingers with me, because I have a Taurus 4" 357, Model 669, stainless. It is packed to go back to them on Monday. After firing two or three rounds, the cylinder unlocks enough to quit revolving.

We will see how they do.



As for my Sigmas, I have sent two back to the Texas warranty center, and have had them back in less than ten days, with smoother (but not MUCH) lighter triggers. Good guns, good warranty, EXCELLENT service. Two more to go, and these I will check the trigger pull both "before" and "after", and I'll let y'all know how they worked oout.

I had a rossi 972 (rossi is owned by Taurus) and got rid of it before something happened. That gun, by far, had the worst trigger ever. Trigger was 18 pounds DA and 9 SA.

Good luck with Taurus. They've had mine for 4 weeks and tell me it will be at least 3 more weeks. Alleged back log of repairs. They absolutely will not make it right by way of a free mag or anything. Ridiculous.

I too sent my Sigma back to S&W. It was because the firing pin started hitting the casing instead of the primer. While they had it they worked on my trigger also. It now is much smoother, but like yours it isn't much lighter, if any. I think it is fine just the way it is now. I don't want a light trigger pull on this gun. I don't want to be the object of the next you-tube video where I shoot off a body part at Lowes.
