44 HE 3rd Target

Would like to know approx. how many of the .44 HE 3rd model
revolvers were made in target version? Also, what would be a
fair price to pay for one of these in good-very good condition??

the target models in the 1926 3th model were a very limited production.
based on what we have seen over the last 40 years the best guess estimate is about 100 revolvers.
Price is based on condition orginal finish and options.
and if the gun letters or not.

Thanks! The gun is probably 90% original finish and all numbers
match and it does have a factory letter with it. It isn't in mint
condition and does not have a box or tools. Just a real nice example
of this model.

Geez Jerry, I guess our definitions of high end vary significantly. Any condition issues that I see are forgotten when I gaze at those prewar magnas and that HBH.

I'm bettin' you wouldn't let your 4" go for anywhere near the high end of that scale!!

So some questions are in order.

Are we talking prewar target 3rd or postwar target 3rd?
What kind of barrel length?

There are a bunch of them out and about. More than I can carry with both arms (but I'm weak.) My suggestion would be to latch on to any and all you can (easy for me to say.)

My observations have been there are more long barrel versions than short. Lee had a 6 1/2" gun a while back, and he was asking $8500 for it. Seemed to me like a pretty good deal if you had the money.
