44 Mag. Ammo Recommendations

I have had good luck with the following.

Fed American eagle-240 JHP, there is also a JSP 240 grain load but it costs more, never tried it.

Magtec 240 grain JSP

Privi Partizan 240 grain JSP (also sold as Wolf Gold)

Seller&Bellot 240 grain JSP (also labeled and sold by Cableas as Herters select)

Fiocchi 240 grain JSP

The American eagle is a little hotter but the others can be had when in stock for $30-35 a box online.

The Winchester white box has never impressed me.

Blazer is fine but it is on the slow side.

Hornady loads with the 240 or 300 grain XTP are great.

I've had great results with Georgia Arms ordering online. 50 cent for wadcutters and semiwadcutter and 64 cent per round for FMJ. I usually order a fair amount to cut down on the shipping costs.

For serious target shooting or hunting, I prefer the Hornady 225 grain FTX LEVERevolution in my revolvers or lever-action rifle. They are much flatter shooting than the standard blunt-nose rounds. The point of impact is much different at 50 or at 100 yards. For plinking, there are many cheaper options.
