I have a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake that carries my 2.75" Super Redhawk. After seven years of carry, generally out in the woods, it looks a little rough but still works great. The name describes it well.

I concur. Have a SR for my 66 and 624 Lew Horton. Great holster, great prices.

OK, first off welcome to the forum.

Next, unless it is a KGB secret, would you explain your name? That is a mouthful.

I do not have much in the line of holsters anymore, but I used to have them made for me. I love custom leather.

You might try C Rusty Sherrick in PA ( has website ) if you want a nice horsehide holster

+1 on Simply Rugged. Carry a 3 inch 629 IWB With their Cumberland model. Excellent quality.

I have always used just a regular belt holster . Cochise Leatherworks in Az has made several for me . He has a website . Regards Paul

Another vote for Simply Rugged...makes an especially great field holster and with Chest Puller straps convert the belt holster to a chest rig. One can also get IWB straps for a do everything rig...

Another if you want a little less leather there is the DeSantis Speed Scabbard. Have them for most of my revolvers and semi-autos...

All my revolvers have a Simply Rugged pancake holster for them. It's a very snug, close-fitting holster and fully protects the gun from the rigors of carrying it all day long. I just wear a loose-fitting button front shirt to hang over it when i go into town. Around my little chicken ranch here I just wear it open on the belt in the same holster. Coyotes and rattlers are the main problem around here.

Bianchi Shoulder Rig?

carelesslove, here!

I can't remember the shoulder rig you referenced. I have an original SafariLand 101 - but, I have never used it either.

Welcome to perhaps one of the best forums on the www.
I have several of the Simply Rugged (sourdough) rigs with no complaints I'm aware of. I also have a S&W brand strongside OWB hip holster I prefer for my 4" 629 carry piece.
In an effort to help with your question, do you have a preference in mind as to type, use, etc?

ETA:

Also under General Topics, there's a specific thread for holsters, etc. you might check out.

Crossdraw

You didn't give a price range that you were looking for. I just recently purchased a leather one off of Amazon made by "HolstermartUSA". It is by no means the quality (nor the price) of a SR holster but it does allow both strong side and cross draw use, which is nice. I don't know why more companies don't offer both of these options in the same holster.

My 6" M28-2 is the only N-frame that I have ever carried in a holster
and that was a long time ago when I used it to hunt rabbits.

Here's my 5" M27-2. I never have carried it but I have a holster for it.

And here's my M58. I've never carried it either but will soon when I head out on my ATV.

My wife and I take 7-10 mile(round trip) hikes 4 times a week, April through Oct. We live in grizzly/wolf/mountain lion country, and I carry my 4" bbl 629 in a S&W 21-24 holster on every hike.
At 68 years old, I hope I am not going to regress to 45, because I don't want to trade in my 629 for a light weight revolver and a kydex holster.

Me too.

I have a Bianchi 5BHL that fits both my 629-6 and 625-2, both 5". Your 629 will fit in it also. It's pictured here with my 625-2.
