I'm looking for any information to help me get specifics on a recent acquisition. This is my first time posting in this forum and I'm having a little trouble with getting everything attached and posted so please bear with me.

Thanks in advance for the help.

That looks an awful lot like a 624 stainless 4" 44 Special to me. What's it say inside the crane on the frame?

They are awesome firearms. I'm lucky enough to have one myself.

I'm guessing a 1980's model 624. Model number should be on the inside of the frame opposite your first pic. Serial number will be on the butt of the gun if you remove the grips.

It appears to be a Model 24-3, made in 1983 or 1984. The 4" version is pretty scarce, with only about 2600 of them made.

Take off those Goncalo Alves target stocks and tell us what serial number is stamped on the butt. It probably starts with ABZ.

The pictures make it appear to be blued carbon steel, which is why I identified it as a Model 24-3. However, now I see the sideways S on the yoke, which does make it more likely that it is a Model 624, a stainless revolver.

The 624 is much more common than a 4" Model 24-3. The Model 624 was made from 1985-88. The serial number should start with AHB, ALB or ALV.

Thanks guys! I'll pull the hand grips and post a picture or the Serial#
