When did S&W go to the blue plastic box? I have a 442-1 made in 1995 and would like to know what box it came in, plastic or cardboard.

Hey Pothole,
I'm pretty sure the small plastic box or at least my 442-1 did. I have a 642 no- that came in a cardboard box.

Hey again Pothole,

Just being nosy but was it the small plastic box or the bigger "one size fits all" like Smith is now using??? I have seen the small ones on e-bay.

It is the small box with foam lining.
