45 ACP 625 with a slender barrel 3.5 - 4" profiled like a M27. Matte finish. AO tritium big dot front sight in a dovetail with an appropriate adjustable rear sight.

Same revolver with a 5" barrel as well for field carry.

If there is enough cylinder, the equivalent of a 696 except in .45ACP. Same sight set up as suggested above.

No lock on either.

In My Not So Humble Opinion, the M625 Mountain Gun, chambered in .45 ACP, is the ideal fighting revolver. It has a long enough sight radius to offer practical accuracy, it is light enough to carry for an eight hour plus shift, and it has the round butt grip which conceals well. That RB can be adapted to a square butt for those that prefer that style of grip.

My last two years of uniformed police duty found me carrying a 3" M625 .45 ACP. I tried to get a MG barrel for it, but S&W didn't have any at the time. My large sized speedloaders would carry two full moon clips in each pouch, one with the bullet points down, the second one on top with the points up.

During quals, I could reload as fast as and often faster than my fellow officers armed with semiautos.

It took awhile, but I finally found one. It ain't for sale!!!!!!!!!!
