Anyone provide a reliable source for this ammo? I am particularly interested in a source for remanufactured ammo, if there is one... but tell me if you have a source for new at a good price. My local guys believe rimmed ammo is loaded in gold cartridges!

Not many companies even making .45 AR. Black Hills has new-brass ammo , Starline is the only fulltime maker of brass. Rem & Win only do special runs every so often.

.45 Auto RIm was created by the Peters Ammunition CO. in 1921
with the influx of surplus S&W and Colt New Service M1917 revolvers.

As stated Starline brass is making .45 AR again.

Besides Georgia Arms, Here's a source

Reeds Ammunition & Rssearch
Oklahoma CIty, OK

A bit more reasonable in price than the otehrs listed below.

Pistol Ammunition - Reed's Ammunition & Research, LLC

Buffalo Bore, Double Tap and CorBon make
HD/SD loads with premium bullets but it's spendy.

I have a S&W 625 5" Bbl. - funny S&W doesn't even
mention the cartridge for their .45 ACP revolvers.

I have never seen Winchester or Western, or Winchester-Westen .45 Auto Rim ammunition. Or brass marked as such.

All I had run across in the 40 years I have been shooting is Remington-Peters/Union Metallic Cartridge, which was often the same corporate entity. The new runs of Starline brass has made the other makers able to offer .45 Auto Rim in loaded cartridges.

I have found the R-P Auto Rim brass I have loaded and shot to have been of pretty decent quality, better than the results I have gotten from similar loadings of other cartridges made during the same approximate eras. While my .45 A-R has been stellar, my R-P made .44 Special, .45 Colt, .45 ACP and .41 Magnum mid-range ammo has suffered a lot of case failures due to case body splits and splits on the mouth edges.
