I know its not everyone's flavor but I love case color. So, here is my new model 22 in 45 ACP.

This was one on my list:

Looks great. I have a pair of blue 22s. I am not happy with smooth front sights. Not sure what to change.

That's purtier than a speckled pup.

Enjoy.

Beautiful case-colors on a great gun. I have a TRR 22-4 and a model of 1917 22-4, both great shooters.

Keep those colors waxed with Johnson's Past Wax, Flitz Gun Wax or Renaissance Wax.

Thanks, I didn't know about the wax for them. I'll pick some up.

Such a shame, IMHO, that S&W defaced this GORGEOUS revolver with their ridiculous IL. Their model of 1917 with the longer barrel, lanyard ring and case colors is similarly disfigured. A blued PLUG won't blend with the colors, either. Is this a revolver from the "Classic" series ? ? ? BTW, I heartily recommend the use of Renaissance Wax. It does an excellent job, and will even protect those beautiful grips...

I have the 1917 Classic with the lock. I "got over it". Many other people should also. It shoots juat as nice as any of my dash 2 revolvers.

Just get some model paint(like Testors) from a hobby shop and paint the front sight. I did and it really made a difference on my case-colored 22-4. Be sure to put down a white primer base before putting on the flourescent orange. Use a toothpick to apply. It's removable(without damaging the finish) with mineral spirits. Makes the front sight highly visible.

It's ugly, spoils the contour of the back of the frame and (most importantly of all) it is totally un-necessary to the point of being useless. Sorry Bub, I'm not going to get over it and I'm not going to spend one dollar with S&W for any gun that has it. If you don't mind being treated like a child and told what you will like or not, more power to you but don't tell me how to think or what to buy.

WELL SAID, DAVE. WELCOME HOME BROTHER.....

That's purty, and someone just today posted a 21-4 with case color also.

'Twas me. I started a Heritage/Classic picture thread. It would be nice if those who have these would post on that thread so we can get them all together...if you don't mind.

While I'm here, I will add my photos which are not nearly as good as the OP's - congrats. I WILL find a case colored 22-4...

Awesome 21-4 (next on list :D). I posted in the Heritage/Classic picture thread too.

And I got all my picture taking tips from Rags. :)

Absolutely beautiful and congratulations, I've been looking for a 22 like this for awhile, should have picked one up when the option was out there. Avery11's is pretty sweet too... I could go on and on. Maybe it's not everyone's flavor, but then some people just don't know what's good for them.

p.s. Please ignore all the hijackers and whiners that wanted to turn this into another "I hate all ILs", etc, etc. You would think by now they would realize what "beating a dead horse" means.

Thanks, M2MikeGolf

Personally, I dislike the ILS myself. Just not enough to stop buying a quality gun. I have fired my 3" 629 (which has an ILS) with some seriously heavy loads and it has never broken or accidentally engaged. I just ignore it and the gun works fine.
