45 Compact 1.0 Questions

Hello, I am picking up a 45 Compact 1.0 next week and had a couple of questions.

1. Can I use a 2.0 backstrap on the 1.0? It looks like they are interchangeable, but I am seeing a couple of things that I am wondering about.

2. Do I need a specific 45 2.0 backstrap, or will any 2.0 backstrap work, such as the full size 9/40 backstraps?

3. Do I need the 2.0 retainer tool, or will the 1.0 tool work?

4. Do full size magazines fit in the compact? I am looking to buy 10 round magazines and adding the x-grip for more rounds and to have closer to a full size grip.

4: yes, the 10 round mags fit and are what I typically use in my M&P45Cs (1.0). You'll want the spacer by XGrip.

Keep in mind you can readily turn that 45C into a FS by swapping slides with the 10 rd mag.

As regards the backstrap question, I've put 2.0 backstraps on several of my M&P 1.0s and the 1.0 retainer pins work just fine.

Thank you for your reply, and I apologize if this is a dumb question, but the 45 full size slide will fit on the 45c? so to turn it into a full size, I would just need to get a full size slide assembly and barrel and recoil spring?

Thank you! Do you happen to know if the 45c uses the compact backstraps or the full size? I am probably just going to order both since they are not that expensive, but I have seen some differing information since it looks like the full size 1.0 and 2.0 guns are pretty much the same, but the 1.0 and 2.0 compacts were changed.

That is correct. A complete full size slide will drop on a compact frame without any issues. One of my 45Cs is set up as a FS. I actually like the feel of the compact frame w/ 10 round mag and XGrip spacer better than my FS grip.
