45 long colt

I have been shooting handguns for over 45 years and reloading for over 40 years. And in all my years I have never seen a bullet case that said 45 LONG COLT, because there is no such animal. It's a 45 COLT

F A stands for Frankford Arsenal The number on the left (2) is for month made the right number is the year (11), so military load from Frankford Arsenal made Feb. 1911. What powder they were loading was smokeless I believe.

The proof just keeps on rolling in.

Actually who cares?

If someone wants to call the ".38 Special" the ".38 S&W Special" I don't care. EVERYONE knows what we are talking about.

So goes the .45 Long Colt versus the .45 Colt. Everyone knows what we are talking about.

But if it will get someone's goat I will call it the .45 Long Colt every time!!!
