4506-1 & 1006 question

I have 4506-1. My understanding is the frame of the 4506-1 is the same as the 1006 10mm frame? Is this correct?

So in theory if you a 4506-1 frame and 1006 slide.....could they be fitted together in this manner?

The frame is the same, but the barrels wouldn't interchange...Also, the magazines have different ridges to prevent interchangability.

Smith doesn't want folks trying stuff like this...

Simply put, multiple factors keep this from being either a good or a workable notion...
