Hey, y'all. Been a while since I've been around, so hope you all have been well. Anyways...

A fella in my area has a 3rd Gen Model 4506 (no dash) for sale. Dude is standing firm at his asking price of $1350. Included with the fine pistol is the original box and two original magazines. Now, I realize that certain model 3rd Gens demand a higher price these days, but $1350 for this seems a bit out of line; at least to me. Especially considering how lucky we are in Louisiana to still be able to find 3rd Gens rather cheap as compared to prices I see in other states. What are your thoughts on his asking price? Is there any realistic chance of him getting that? I paid $600 for my 4506 about three years ago with two original mags and box.

Thanks, I'll hang up and listen.

Did his wife tell him to sell his gun, so he put this price on it and can go back to his wife and tell her no one wants to buy it? Even if it is is NIB, never fired outside of the factory, still has the factory lubricant and GSR in it, $1350 is a pie in the sky price.

I researched 4506 prices pretty extensively over the past 6mos…I went on a bit of a buying spree when the 2nd/3rd gen bug bit me and bought a 6906, 5906, 645 and two 4506’s. In my opinion a 4506 as you described is an $800-1,000 gun tops. $1,350 is way too high absent something like a dozen extra mags.

Ridiculous price. I almost bought a 4506 for $ 900. The gun came with 8 - 8 round mags. After looking closer, the mags appeared to be 645 mags with rubber bumpers. I prefer the standard plastic bottom pads. Fortunately someone else bought it.

Today at a gun show I purchased 5 - 8 round and 3 - 7 round mags for my 4516. I have been looking for these mags for awhile. I was very happy to find them at a decent price. Also purchase 4 - 6906 mags and 2- 1006 mags. I don't even own a 1006.

$1350? …. Only if fired very little and it comes with the original box, papers, 5 magazines, and fixed Novak nights sights.

Discount 10% if it’s got the ghey factory adjustable rear sight.

Me too $~500 for mine about the same time, but times are different now. So…

I wouldn’t take less than $1000 each for both of my 4506-1’s. One novak and one adjustable sight model. They’re like new condition. You don’t see them very much.

It's simple... if he is pricing his gun based on what he thinks he has seen on Gunbroker, then he probably feels like he is correct. What he is likely missing is that he is almost surely comparing his gun to a time capsule on Gunbroker being offered by a well known consignment seller and being sold to some high roller that's accumulating new in box, new old-stock guns that he does not intend to shoot.

It's his gun, so his price is right to him. And agree, he has almost zero chance of selling that. Five years from now, who knows.

He will either have it for a long time or he will adjust his price when he finds no interest.

In about a week, ask me what I paid for a trio of 3983's!

Just a note to all. Have you forgotten our beloved 18DAI. He made numerous posts about the iterations of the 4506 and 4516. AS I recall 18DAI had zeroed in on no dash 4506 & 4516 models with laser marked slides that were the last produced and included all of the improvements. A sort of unofficial 4th Gen. When reviewing these posts, I began searching and found a 4506 and a 4516 so described. They were not cheap. If the one for sale is such a pistol, and the condition is excellent or better, the price may not be unreasonable.:) Especially for someone with two of them.:D
