Spent the first half of the day at our office's range, practicing several drills and worse case scenarios.....one Kimber 1911, the rest were tuperware. The 4506 and Bianchi kicked butt. Not surprised. Just finished cleaning him. ahhhh

Since 1987 my 4506 has never had a gun caused failure. Some, very little, ammo related problems. This includes 12 years of daily carry. The 4506 is a great gun.

A great gun. I shoot my 4506-1 better than most all of my other pistols.

I had a 1911 and sold it. My one and only 1911. I didn't care for the field stripping procedures. I've launched the recoil spring and plug on more than one occasion while removing the barrel bushing. IMO, it was a PITA.

I purchased a 4506-1 plus ammo with the funds. Glad I did it.

I love 1911s.
However, I like 3rd gen Smiths more and more as I get older.
They feel better in my hand, and the field stripping procedure is simpler.
Plus, they just about ALWAYS work.

I had one of my 4506-1 dash 3's out at the range Friday.

Outshot my brothers Kimber Stainless Target II. His Kimber had 7 FTF's. Once again, my 4506-1 was 100% reliable.

My brother called me twice this weekend wanting to buy the 4506-1. :) Fine 45's! Regards 18DAI
