Just picked up this interesting .455 Mark II Hand Ejector 2nd Model.
It's has the standard British proof mark on the frame left side forward of the cylinder.
Below the cylinder on the frame left side is the two broad arrows head to head with a "S" above. This is the sold out of service mark.
Also on the left side, above the stock is the broad arrow and acceptance mark with the "II" meaning the .455 MK II cartridge.
Below this is "P.G" this is Proof mark for Government contract order.
The letters "TJFF" stamped into the backstrap, the Unit mark for Trans Jordan Frontier Force.
The letter "A" below I believe to indicate 1st Cavalry (Horsed) Regiment based at Jisr el Majamie with "A" Squadron.
Below this is I cannot decipher possibly English/Arabic mix.
We collectors like to find them original, best possible condition in the original box. Then these guns pop up with markings giving indication of some interesting history.
