.45ACP and clips

Loading and unloading moon-clips is easier than finding brass thrown from an auto loader. For social circumstances moon clips are faster to reload than a speed loader. You have to find your own path to salvation. ymmv

When I used one at anywhere other than a range, I never worried about picking up brass.

Whereas: The difficulty of unloading half-moon clips is recognized and has been recently again experienced;
Whereas: I don't have the primers to handload .45 Auto Rim;
Whereas: I have an ample supply of factory ammo stored, enough for my immediate requirements;
Whereas: I own a full-moon loading/unloading tool;
Be it resolved: Full-moon clips shall be used again!

I have a Brazilian 1st contract 1937 S&W revolver in 45acp. Won't use anything other than the RIMZ poly moon clips. Just have to file off the little humps so that the star on the extractor can push them up to extract the whole loaded or fired cases can be removed. Work great. Funny thing,that big old revolver seems to draw crowds as most of the younger shooters have never seen one. Or even heard of moon clips. Frank

Frank,

Clarify one thing, please. You don’t use metal moon clips or the 1917 doesn’t function with them?

Thank you.

Kevin
