I have carried a Kimber Target .45 ACP, but not all that often. Also I can put in a good word for the G30 (although I prefer the G29), I was surprised by the accuracy, and I'm a Glock guy.
Just picked up a SIG 220 and ordered a Don Hume 710 slide for it (my favorite holster) and I'll be carrying the SIG when I have received it.

I decided to give my 457 a bit of a rest and is currently in hibernation inside the safe.

I use both a Glock Model 30SF .45 ACP and a Kimber Ultra CDP 3" .45 ACP.

Sig p220 Carry SAS. Galco Shouder holster with a cuban style shirt most days. Carry a m&p 340 bug in a pocket if possible, In a Alessi ankle rig if not.

I'm having a hard time finding a CS45. So, I came across this 45. If I can find a good quality holster, it will probably be my winter carry.

.45 ACP is what I carry about 85-90% of the time. When I just can't do so, then it is .380.
The Glock 36 is a fantastic carry gun. It's ugly, but it works and I have complete faith that it will go "bang" every single time.
When I'm feeling fancy, I carry a Sig 1911 Revolution C3 model (CCO).

I just today rotated to my "Cool" weather guns and started with my Colt New Agent .45acp in a Don Hume IWB holster most of the time. I also use the DeSantis paddle holster with a jacket.

I like the double/single action of this Ruger, much safer in my opinion than a striker fired. I don't carry it often, but is available when I think I need more lead.
My main issue is I'm spoiled, weight-wise, from carrying a J-frame Airweight. Please forgive me, but I'm leaning towards a G30SF or the lighter G36.
I'm drawn to the "bigger bullet" issue. Back in the day, I carried a G30 and qualified with it on an AZPOST course. I really liked it but it was a bit thick for me, hense, the G36 thought.

That Kahr, loaded, weighs a pound and a half with seven rounds of 230 fightin' ammo. (That's not a factory mag, it's a Springfield 1911 mag that I shortened. Works great.)

For a number of years I carried a Glock 36 but havn't done so for a few months having made the switch over to a Glock 32 (.357 SIG). Most of the mags on my G36 have the pinky finger extensions, which gives the two guns (36 & 32) almost the same dimensions. The G36 is actually slightly slimmer and does feel a little bit better in my hand.
By switching over to the G32 I was able to double my round count.
If, I should say when, I do decide to carry a .45 acp again I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the G36.........

HK45 Compact, or the USP Compact .45. Only slightly larger than a G36, with a few more BBs.
Yeah, they are quite a bit more expensive than the usual suspects (except Kahr). And since the Germans have stopped producing the HK45/HK45C in Germany (most of the parts are still made there, but are shipped to Wilcox in New Hampshire for assembly/packaging), they are not easy to find; especially now that the military is buying them for the spec ops types. USPc .45s are plentiful, though, and for less money.
The quality is un-matched, and the LEM (law enforcement modification) trigger option is THE way to go for a carry piece, as far as I'm concerned. That opinion is not universally shared, and in fact there is more confusion and downright mis-understanding about the LEM trigger than anything else out there. However, most of the nay-sayers have never even tried one, simply parroting what they read from other i-experts.
But almost 30 years of carrying professionally has convinced me that a point'n'pull trigger is the smart move for a defensive piece. And IMO, the LEM is the best of that breed. The superlative HK quality is just a bonus.
The Kahr P45 and PM45 interested me for a while. A pal has one of each, and I shot both quite a bit. Two things kept me from buying one: I just think that you're losing too much velocity on an already slow bullet when you drop to only three inches of barrel... and all the complaints of spotty QC on these pistols, along with the widely varying tales of the level of customer service/support.
Plus, with proper carry ammunition that PM45 is a bear to hang onto to. It sure carries well, though.

Don't listen to what people say about the 36 being unreliable, the older ones can be but any made in the last couple years will give you no trouble. Mine is in the KZGXXX serial range and have had ZERO problems with it.

I have taken to carrying my 4516 now that I have a good IWB holster for it. I can wear it with a loose, dark colored tee shirt. A 457 would be really nice though

I will carry a 645 in a Bianchi #3S, ISW, originally made for the Beretta 92. Awesome holster that also fits a number of other Smith autoloaders. I will also carry a Colt 1991A1 in a Don Hume H721, belt slide and an SW99 in a Galco CM292, belt slide. That Galco also fits other full size Smith autoloaders.

My CC of over 30 years has been a Colt Commander. It now has Novak sights and new grips, but, other than that it has served me well and has never failed. I've just replaced it with an Ed Brown Executive Carry and am simply amazed by that piece. Novak style sights with Trijicon inserts are the best! I am ordering a Kobra model and cannot wait. The Executive is the only 1911 I've owned which is silent when shaken. Comparisons to my Springfield and Colt pistols make me feel like they are unworthy, even though I've used them all for years. I'm very pleased. Expensive? Yes, but just how much is the life of a loved one worth... or even your own life?
When I can minimize the outline wearing a coat, jacket, or vest I carry a Colt Gov't 1911 in a Desantis Thumb break scabbard. It rides high and the three slot model allows for proper cross-draw cant if that's your preference. I got mine for $60 (suede lined) new on ebay.
