Yes that’s what they are.

I used them with Winchester Small Pistol primers with W231 powder. Bullet weights employed were 230 – 200 & 185Grs. There were no issues. Since I had very few of them they were disposed of. I didn’t want them to be inadvertently mixed in with standard cases.

I’ve also used the NT cases that utilized a larger than standard flash with the large pistol primer. No issues there either but my loads were light target to moderate.

thanks dennis...so you used your standard recipe...and simply used small primers instead of large?

My notations indicate that the maximum charge weight was 5.6Grs of W231 for all three bullet weights of 185 – 200 & 225/230 Grs. That powder charge weight is under the maximum for all three bullet weights.

The best use that I've found for Winchester NT brass is in "lost brass" matches, especially if you have access to a lot of it. For small amounts, I just toss it.

Don't you just love those shoots, especially when the entry fee is HIGH !

I have even been to indoor ranges where anything that lands in front of the firing line is forefeit. (That is when I load and shoot all my A-MERC brass)
