ive had a 460 with a 10.5 barrel on it for a bit over a month. been practicing a bit with it...but im wondering if there are some tips out there for being accurate with such a big bore/ heavy gun.

i do have shooting sticks for it. equipped it with a leopold vx3 scope.

im wondering if anybody has ever tried to put a vertical grip towards the end of the barrel where the sling mounts? is there such a thing for this gun that would work? i know that the pressure when fired is strong even at the end of the barrel (if shot it that way a few times experimenting with plenty of protection), but i thought that something like this would help with accuracy. i want to get the most distance i can out of this gun...and am looking for options when shooting sticks are not so easy to use when hunting, etc.

Do not mount a vertical fore grip... the ATF will crucify if they find out (or any other LE agency). Adding a VFG makes it an AOW according to our silly NFA. You have been warned.

If you want to tweak your accuracy, have a friend load your chambers and mix empty brass with live cartridges. When it goes "CLICK" and you jerk it downwards, you will teach yourself. I have done this with a .454 to great success. If you do not have a friend along for the range trip, do it yourself in a random fashion (do not space them evenly, one live, one empty, one live...). This is kind of like a dry fire / hot training.

There are bi-pods that use the sling mount for attachment if you are looking for stability. You can also use a sandbag under your hands if you are shooting from a bench.

If you think it is trigger control that is causing problems, practice, practice, practice.

I find shooting off the bipod from the bench isn't terrible in the recoil depart, so having a super squeeze on the gun isn't necessary which can cause poor groupings at long distance.
