Got a 460 Magnum and installed a 3 MOA Vortex Venom on a Weig-a-Tinny rail. DeSantis Gunhide Predator II Rig holster. Shot a 1.93" group during sight in at 25 yards. I prefer it over my 500 due to the versatility because it can fire multiple cartridges.

Are you in Yosemite National Park? Are you trekking Denali National Park?\\

If not then get a Non-Comp'd version of the .460 or .500 S&W and rock the chest rig for potential problems... If not, what is the problem? What are you trying to achieve? To each his own and rock on for sure... But I wouldn't want that kind of blinding BS for follow up's...

I've shot .460's that were carried/built for there though I never went just helped test them out... an 8.5" version back in 06 I believe and it will Certainly get the ***** done... Love the .500 Round for sure...

Great shooting and thanks for the dirty gun pic! :D It's been awhile since I've seen you post, miss the long distance shots with the Magnum Hunter. It's good to see you still plugging away and moving up even! Thanks for sharing.

Nice. We hardly have to be at Denali to encounter bear in Alaska. Try fishing the Russian River. On the side of the highway. Trash receptacles in Anchorage suburbs. On Admiralty Island alone there are 1,600 brown bears. I use my 3.5" 460 for protection in Alaska. Short barrel I can literally snatch out of the chest holster. Diamond D chest rig, no compensator, Buffalo Bore 300 Grain 1920 FPS, 2560 ft. lbs.

Indeed, don't put anything you value near the cylinder when shooting the 460. A friend and I both bought 460s, sighted them in, and decided to try them on whitetails. He used his new hunting hat to cushion the revolver when trying for a doe at about 100 yards. The flash from the cylinder burned holes through the hat, essentially destroying it. Oh, yes, the deer died too.

Thanks. I've been shooting nonstop every week. Doing a lot of long range shooting (1,000 yards to 1 mile) with .308, .30-06, 300 Win Mag, and 6.5 Creedmoor.
All of my firearms stuff is on YouTube and they were gonna ban me for sharing it on here. Too bad because I like to do videos rather than pictures to share my shooting stuff.
