460 S&W loading data suggestions with a 200FTX in a 24"Encore.

Hey everyone,
Needing some help and suggestions.I've started loading the 460 S&W for a friend in his 24"Encore.This is a new cartridge for me.Factory Hornady loads with the 200FTX clock almost 2900fps in this barrel and are dead on the money at 50 and 100 yards.He started loads with Accurate-5744 and a starting charge of 32.0 grains.At 50 yards this load cuts the same hole with 3 shot groups,at a 100 it goes to pieces with a trail of unburnt powder.I'm wanting suggest a load with H-110.But start with a reduced load.But being such a large case and the H-110 not being a reduced load powder,I'm stumped.Factory loads as I said are around 2900 fps and they are a little punishing.I would like to get as close to the factory loading as possible.Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.

I tried 5744 & 460 mag using 300 gr Speer bullets. I had terrible results with reduced and full loads. My BIG problem was separated cases. The cases all separated exactly the same about 3/8-1/2 inch up from the rim. And yep, a bunch of unburnt powder either way.

H-110 is my 460 mag powder. For really reduced loads, I use Trail Boss and can get around 1000 fps from the 300 gr JHP bullet. I even get 4" accuracy (50yds) with Trail Boss and 200 Lead RN bullets. Those expensive 200 gr FTX's get cases full of H-110 only.

One more reasonably (cheap) reduced recoil load is Trail Boss and Hornady 250 gr XTP. Fill the case up with Trail Boss to within 90% of the seated bullet and you're good to go. That has worked for me for any bullet. That's pretty close to the factory (T.B.) recommendations. I think they say 70%-90% to the bottom of you seated bullet. Do not compress.

I have loaded 46gr H110 and a 240gr XTP for my 460 XVR. I do not know how it would preform in the Encore.

I'm going to try to load a bit today for the 460,and I'm going to experiment with Trailboss a bit and then step it up with H-110.Thanks for the replies and info.

I've reloaded maybe 300 rounds now using 70 cases.
I did have just "one" separate about half in the middle of the case... however before I figured out what I was doing my case stuck in the loader..... me and my buddy lifted the whole table up it was mounted to trying to get it loose.
We finally got it loose and from that point on I now put just a very light film of reloading grease on the top rim and all is well now.

But I believe that to be the case that separated since I have had no other issues with any of the other cases.
But it was only that one that got stuck so severely.

On that note, I'm amazed at how hard these cases are to find. Good thing I enjoy reloading... while the cases are hard to fine, the full ammo is even harder.

I also shoot the 460 xvr.
If anyone is interested I love the gun!.. its really not bad at all.
I weigh about 180lbs and have relatively small wrist and its really no big deal at all to shoot... lots of fun!

I bought a pair of bicycle riding gloves that are padded with the fingers cut out.
I can shoot a box and walk away not even realizing I did anything.
