460 s&w prohunter barrel

My state now allows straight walled deer rifles so I'm getting a custom barrel made for my tc prohunter by bullberry barrel. I need opinions on barrel length I ordered 27 inch because I want the most velocity but I'm starting to hear that since the 460 uses fast burning powder the long barrel will hurt velocity. Should I change my order to a shorter barrel? Thanks

Out of the 450bushmaster which is a very similar cartridge there is almost no difference in speed between a 16" and a 20" barrel. So i think youre long at 27"

Do you think it would hurt the velocity though, because I think it would balance good.

I think you will reach full combustion by 20" with win 296... So order a heavy octagonal barrel and have fun with it. Look into the old sharps barrel profiles. Would be awesome and would make up for the shorter OAL.
