I've seen both the 469 and 6904. One looks a little more refined and has the wrap-around grip. 469's seem to go cheaper and still look feel great - Is their any significant reason to go with a 6904 instead of a 469? Opinions appreciated.

I once owned a 469, and I carried one or another early production 6906 for some years (shooting several ten's of thousands of rounds through a couple of them, combined). I also own a 3913.

If I had the choice of owning either a 469 or a 6906, I'd easily choose the 6906, and, preferably one made toward the end of the model line (MIM, wide barrel tab & breech face machining, Novak Low-mount sights, revised ejector/extractor, plastic disconnector/mainspring cup, etc).

The 3rd gen machining is better, and it continued to get better as the old machining methods were being replaced with CNC equipment. This extended over to the parts production, as well, although many of the better 3rd gen parts can be used in the 2nd gen 469.

That's just me, though.

The 2nd gen guns can be real workhorses, but the 3rd gen guns benefited from some design and manufacturing revisions and changes, as well as some better materials over time.

It's hard to follow one of Fb's posts....;)

I definitely prefer the feel of the one piece wraparound grip of the 6904 over the three piece one on a 469!
