Picked this one up off of Gunbroker for $290. It's a great time to be a revolver enthusiast.

Certain firearms strike me as being very balanced and proper. A 5" Model 10 is one of those. I owned one for many years but sold it to help fund a business venture. I've often wished that I had kept it, and now I have its twin.

Nice find and great price on a classic revolver.:D

Congrats on a great looking revolver. Super price and I would grab one up too at that price.

The odd barrel lengths are favorites. I prefer the 5" for holster wear/ general purpose, and the 3" for carry.

I own a 5" 10-1 made in 1961 that is a tack driver, but a bit too nice to actually carry and use. Still, it is nice to take her out to the range from time to time.

Now that is a nice find! The fiver's are in my book a very nice barrel length. I have a mid 50's five inch M&P reblue that I got cheap that is perhaps one of my most accurate and easy to hit with revolvers.

I remembered how Skeeter used to talk about 5" barrels when I found this 10-5 last year. (I know he was talking about "N" frames.) As I was looking it over, my wife said "You REALLY like that one don't you?" As always, she can read me.

The first time I pulled it out at the range, along with a Colt Official Police, the rangemaster walked by, stopped, and said "You sir, have excellent taste in handguns."

The 5 inch Model 10 is my favorite gun. I can shoot it as accurately as my K-38 and it balances better than my 4 inch heavy and tapered barrels. It is a little bit more difficult to carry.

Beautiful 10-5. Congrats! One of the classiest revolvers out there, IMO.

My Grandfather taught me to shoot with a 5" M&P revolver.

A few years back I came across a NIB 5" 10-5. I picked it up out of a sense of nostalgia. Still haven't gotten around to shooting it yet.

Kinda hate to put a turn line on it.
Regards 18DAI.

Longer barrel model 10's are attractive guns. I gave my only 5", a nickel-plated 10-5, to my nephew for his 21st birthday (egad, that was 19 years ago!). His parents are not gun people (not adverse either), and we had him take an NRA safety course and read Mas' book In the Gravest Extreme before he got it permanently.

I still have this 6" 10-5, and it's fun to shoot.

I love the look of the 6 inch Model 10, but I've been very lucky with my Model 10's hitting to POA and I'm afraid that my luck will run out if I get a 6 inch.

Very nice price anywhere for a quality .38 Special that nobody today makes in comparable quality.

I too like the 5 inch barreled S&W K-Frame .38s. I think the balance is perfect in that size of revolver.

I guess it's not surprising that I also like the .32 long 4.25" Regulation Police.

Proportionately, they're very close to being a scaled down 5" Model 10.

Yep, I was watching that one on GB but knew I had a $300 bill coming for work being done on a 4" 10-7, so I passed. I am glad it has gone to an appreciative home. Congratulations.

J&G sales have five inch standard barrels in three grades and prices. Security/police trade-ins now.
I am trying to hold off one of those 5 inch. I can do it I know........
