5" 625 Classic .45 Colt - worth the chase?

@nawilson: Nope....come to think of it she doesn't call me anything, just " Hey you!":)

@NickB: Not sure what my serial # is as the wife has it with her on an out-of-state trip.

Take the 625 back and buy her one of those police trade in 65's !

Divorce would surely follow.

Serial # SDS1253
And I bought it NIB in '94 not '84. It had sat in the display case at Gart Bros. in Grand Junction for almost 5 years.

5 inch 625

Mine is 45ACP, and one of the first made. It shoots beautifully and is a real confidence builder on the range for those who come shooting and haven't had much exposure to big-bore revolvers. I expect I will add another 625 to the herd somewhere down the road. For an unfired gun of this model, the price seems fair.
XAVMECH

I also have one in 45 acp.I must agree it shoots beautifully.I don't know though,my 627-0 shoots pretty nice too.Xavmech, are you stationed at Whidbey?I was there from 1976 - 1978 with vaq-129 and then vmaq-2.

Basically, I collect .38s/.357s but I have ALWAYS wanted a Model 25 in .45/c so, YES, I'd be all over that if it were me.

I have sold guns in the past in order to buy other guns; lots of us do that!

You guys crack me up. 2 years ago EZMUnnY asks if he should buy this gun....
and you are still telling him he should.

We never did find out IF he 'pulled the trigger' .

Allen

Allen guess that is what happens when you don't pay attention to the details! (like the date of the 1st post)

Maybe EZMUnnY will see this and give us an update.

A few weeks ago I posted a WTB for a 25 and/or 625 in 45 Colt. It took awhile but two forum members stepped up. One with a 25-9, 4", blue, in the box. It appears to be unfired by the original owner, his son, or the most recent owner. Another forum member offered a 625-5 SDS, no box, gently used but not abused for $865.00 shipped. I'm going to shoot that one!

So the 625-5 SDS Colt is kinda a grail gun for me. So I brought this post back up, anyone know of one around?

Almost had one but the Member decided to keep it another year or so....

DANG!!! I'm shooting mine in a local match this Saturday... Maybe I should retire it afterwards to keep it as pristine as possible?!?!

I shoot compertitively IDPA , used to shoot PPC and IPSC and
SASS. I am curious, what kind of match do you shoot a 45 colt
625 5 inch in?

Just a "Super Fun" local shoot put on by the Lake County Deputy Sheriff's Association to generate funds for community projects and youth programs. This was the 5th year they've put on this shoot and every year the courses change and Good Folks and even better Friends come from all over the area to have a great time making smoke and ringing steel. I got spanked this year in the L/E division (Chance...I'm coming for ya next year my Friend!), but I squeaked by in the Revolver division and the 3-Gun match. The best part of the day was when my Buddy LLoyd took the Senior division AND the "Top Gun" trophy home!!! He's been training hard to get that trophy and it shows. CONGRAT's BUDDY!!!

Here's what a HAPPY S&W 625 Classic Looks like...

...and this is the S&W 45Colt I'm going to shoot next year (I just swapped the target trigger out and put in a combat trigger. I think the Target hammer held me back in speed this year, so I'll see if this trigger will help make a difference)...

THANKS AGAIN LCDSA (and ALL the local businesses who donated raffle items)... We had a BLAST!!!
