I purchased a 627 performance center and love it. However, I really need to get a holster. If you have this gun, what holster did you get for it?

I'm trying to discern the differences between these two offered by s&w, but all I know is that one can be cross drawed while the other can't.

Product: RH Tan Leather Thumb Break Scabbard For S&W PC M627 5"

Product: RH Tan Leather Dual Angle Holster For PC M627 5"

Can someone explain the difference between these two or make a recommendation for something better?

I find cross draw holsters very comfortable. I don't care for high rise hip holsters with barrels longer than 4" because of shoulder problems and not being able to clear the holster as well.

That is a personal choice item. The cross draw won't conceal worth a darn but it carries well in the field. You can also draw from a seated position which you can't as easily with a strong side rig.

Not familiar with either holster but I have used Bianci Lighting Cross Draw rigs for years. Don't know if they make a specific 5" one. I just use my 6" rig when carrying my 5" revolvers.

About the only difference is the dual angle holster has an extra belt slot so it can be worn strong side or crossdraw.Of the 2 you have linked I'd get the dual angle holster just because it gives you that choice.
As jwk mentioned the 5" barrel in a high ride holster is not the easiest to draw from. Unless you have a long torso your hand and the grip are just about going to be in your armpit to draw the gun.
Both look like nice holsters.

I really appreciate the information. I got the dual angled one and am wearing it right now. It was definitely worth the extra cash. I enjoy cross draw much more than from the hip. As mentioned, it is incredibly comfortable to wear and I can sit down with it and also draw while sitting down. The holster said it might take some time to break in but it seems great now. It doesn't squeak much and the thumb strap is not too tight.
