After reading about this spring issue, I pulled my 4 mags apart recently, and they all looked ok. But, given the my Shield is strictly a carry piece, rather than a range toy, I may end up replacing the springs anyway. (and I'm annoyed as hell with S&W that this is even a concern )

Just because they look OK, that doesn't mean anything! They can and will no matter what? S&W has had this issue with Shield mags from the start and did again change/redesign the springs in early 2017 to no avail and still happens.

I changed mine and will change the 2 from my Rebate also when I get those!

PSA musta bought a whole pile of 8rd Shield mags!

I'm bumpin' this because I hate paying and seeing others pay 20 or 30 bucks for a bent piece of sheet metal with a spring in it, especially when manufacturers sell these things for $5 or $6 each to distributors.

My ammo and mags was delivered about an hour ago.

On the 15th of October I came back from a deployment and got my wife a Shield for her birthday, she liked it but not as much with the standard 7 shot mag in it. I am a GLOCK guy, and saw a link to the PSA ad on GLOCKTALK, so hey why not, as that is/was a smoking daily deal (IMHO).
Anyway PSA would send me maybe five promotional e-mails a day, a bit too much and it took ten days for the merchandise to arrive, so we now have plenty of 8 rd mags for her to use, and x-tra ammo to put in them.
And by the way, the shield that she likes, isn't that bad..............it wont replace my .40 Glocks, but in a pinch, I could use it at the Zombie apocalypses if I had too.

I hear ya, around 20 bucks is the cheapest I ever see the 7 rounders. They should be cheaper as they use less metal and dont come with a spacer, probably economies of scale.

The Win and Federal deals are still active which strongly suggests that this is not some kind of loss-leader and PSA is actually making some profit on this deal. How retailers can sale these $5 things for 30 bucks with a straight face is beyond me.
