Have them on order from three different distributors, none have showed up yet. Also waiting on the 380 Bodyguard and 686 Pro 5".
I have a 4.5 inch M&P 45. I would also like a M&P 40. But I have a Glock 23. I would not, like many others, buy a gun similar to one I already have.

Well it appears that I won't be finding one in Tyme for the current mag rebate.
My inquiry to S&W:
" Since the 5" M&P Pro 9mm came out a few years back I have been anxiously awaiting the .40 S&W version.
I see that you have it listed on the web site as #178032. However, I contacted a number of dealers and distributors and no one has them.
Has this gun shipped yet?
If not when do you expect it to ship?
As the two (2) free mag rebate is due to run out at the end of the month I would like to find one before that time so that I can avail myself of that rebate.

The response from S&W:
"Hello James,
We have only shipped 14 of these. They do not look like we are in full production of them right now. I would give it a month or so to reach the dealer level.

Well at least there are 14 happy M&P owners out there.

Evidently they still aren't in full production yet because I had my dealer call all of his distributors yesterday looking for one. Only one distributor had even seen one and that was only one. Got tired of waiting on this pistol so ordered the 9mm Pro with the fiber optic and 5" slide. Maybe next spring there will be some 40's to be had.

I see they list them as night sights, the 178032 should be the fiber optic with black extended rear.

Just my luck... I checked Bud's the other day and setup a notification for when they came in but never got an email from them. Oh well the dealer called and has my 9mm Pro in so if I like it well enough I may add the 40 to it later.
