5" N-frames (lots of pictures)

Here's my 5" 5 screw pre 27 shipped 1954

I agree, the 5" N-Frame has a nice heft to it but also a nice balance.

Here's a pre-27 I have, magnas number to the gun. I've installed a set of diamond targets as they fit me better.

Love the pics of the 5" N frame smiths. Almost makes me want to take my 6.5 bbld 624 and send it to S&W have them cut the bbl and install a gold dot front sight insert. Frank

1927 .44 Special

Well, it's not the prettiest one here, but I like it's character. It's seen a lot of holster carry, but very tight. Can't wait to get it to the range.

There are a lot of really nice guns in this thread! Okay I'm late to the party but I'll play. Here is my only 5-Inch, it's a .357 that shipped on 12/1939 to an Inspector for the Virginia ABC.

You may be late joining this thread but what a fine example. Thanks for posting the picture and the provenance behind it. Outstanding five inch!

Not mine yet, but it's on layaway. Hope to have it out before too long.

Made in 1954 or 55 I've been told. (S112xxx)

May seem silly, but can anybody give me an idea what "papers" would have been with a gun from this time period? If I read it right, the Catalog of Smith & Wesson indicates that owners manuals didn't come into being until later. I noticed the inside of the top of the box has the information I would have expected to have been in one.
