Very nice.

So tell me a little about the groups. Any called flyers (you knew they weren't going to be where you wanted them when the trigger broke)? Or did they all feel pretty good?

Did you shoot them prone or from a bench? Sand bags, rifle rest?

ETA: how did the targets work out for you? Did the bulls give you an adequate sight picture? Any adjustments I need to make?

Id say for the most part they all felt good. Other than the one that I circled which like I mentioned in the other thread was at fault of the ammo. Just a dud round. I put another one in the clip and maintained my 10 shots per diamond. I'm still getting used to shooting a gun with a pistol grip on it. How you grip the gun definitely changes the point of impact even if you maintain the crosshairs in the center of the diamond. Yes the targets were shot from a bench off of sand bags. I like the targets they worked well, I don't see any problems with them at all. One thing we need is a specific list of things that need to have noted on the pictures we post. Such as: optics used, distance, ammo, type of rest, number of shots per group. Things like that. If we come up with a "standardized" list and we all post our own info above the pictures I believe it will help.

Braden182,

I had a chance to run the same ammo I used for my 15-22 through my 10/22 at the range yesterday. It really likes Eley and Fiocchi ammo. I'm including a link to the write-up on my site so no one gets cranked about posting photos from a non-S&W firearm. I wish my 15-22 had responded with similar results.

One other thing.....take a look at the group shot with the Aguila ammo. That stuff is awesome! It shot equally well in my 15-22.

Thomas_H,
The targets worked well. I put my obligatory 1" orange sticker in the middle of the squares as it give me a higher contrast target. Thanks for taking the time to make them available. All I have to do now is get some more ink for my printer. :D

Happy Holidays to all!

Great write up arizona!! I don't quite have the speaking/typing ability to do such an extensive write up.. I'm good at just shooting and posting pics tho! I'm waiting for it to warm up a little bit then i'm gonna go tear some holes.

What, you're good at shooting? Hey, I was the one with a .86" and a .87" group! :D :D :D

I'm suggesting that for future photos, including the group size on the photo would also be of help.

I intend to hit the range again this coming Monday with a buddy. I'll print some more of Thomas' targets and run them past the 15-22 and put the results here. Still got some of the higher $$ ammo left....it probably won't do much different than the last time, but I'll give it a try.

I meant i'm good at shooting, as in pulling the trigger :) i never said i was a good shooter. are you cleaning the barrel before switching ammo? each brand of ammo uses a different type of lubricant and this can drastically effect the results of your shooting. it still hasn't made it out of the 30's here today so i haven't made it out to shoot yet.. but i'm still hoping for some warmer temps..
