Hello, I just received my new 500 revolver and was reading the book. They come with 2 compensators one says its for lead bullets and the other says jacketed bullets. Do you have to only use the bullets that each compensator says its for or can you use any kind in it? What will happen if you don't use the correct bullet for the compensator. Thanks, Jon

Shooting lead out of the jacketed comp will result in shaving of lead geting between the comp and the frame, making removal more difficult. Beyond that, nothing. you'd have to shoot a LOT of lead to get sufficient leading to do much of anthing without cleaning.

If you shoot cast bullets out of the Jacketed Comp...you will wish you hadn't. The top holes will pound your face with lead and spray. I got away with it a few times, but when it went bad...it went real bad. That being said...after about 50 cast rounds the cast comp will start slapping your face with debri anyway

How many rounds were you putting through it? I shot cast out of mine and didn't experience any blowback of lead out of the comp.
