I've got the 8 3/8 one as well, and I love to shoot it. It's a real accurate weapon, and doesn't kick as much as you'd think. It definitely gets attention at the range too. I make sure to get a lane at the end and warn others before I set that hand cannon off.

My next one will be a 500 because my 2 460s are fun as he!! To shoot and reload. The 395 hard cast are a stinging *** . Here lately The beartooth 280s are a fun load. Yep they will light up tanarite.

To all posters who talk about reloading the wife sends a special " thanks a lot with rolling of her eyes " for informing me that I also will be " needing" some dies ,components ect for the gun that I am now in "need " of .

The 700 gr are OK for T-Rex, or anything smaller. I get the best accuracy out of my 83/8 & rifle. My 4" & 2.5 do not stabilize it well past 40 yards. I have not tried 700's in my 7.5. But they are fun, recoil does not change that much, ( no I have not calculated free recoil in all of my weapons), they give you a smile if you can find the bullet after you go through the rubble of the blocks you just shot. 1/10 pound, smile just like a giggle switch. A couple posts about costs. Even if you don't cast your own or use plated bullets which cannot handle high velocities, you can load rounds with high quality, hard cast, gas checked slugs that will handle any possible velocity for less than 50 cents per round. Don

For some people, just under 50 cents a trigger pull is probably great. Hand loading, as much as I would like the gear and skill, is not for everyone. The 500 and 460 are nice guns, and congratulations to those who maintain and feed them!

I won't shoot my 500s indoors. The worst I experienced was a .50DE. Even that, being far below the 500 in terms of power, the muzzle blast from 2 or 3 lanes away was readily felt on the jeans pantsleg. Don

Dude, that is so sick! I'm trying to find time to get my .44Mag single stage up and running. I've got the .44Special starting to roll along. You've got a great set-up going on there!

My 7.5" PC 500 Magnum is something else.
Like others, I reload and have taken one buck with it several years ago.
Dosen't kick as hard as hot loads in my M29 but don't shoot it much lately.

Nice. I got the performance center 10.5 inch as my first revolver. Lol yeah start at the top. Go down from there.

I reload allot of bullet weights. My favorites are cast 390 spire points, 440 flat nose and 700 grain.

I got mean numbers outta those and what fun it is.

Could go little higher on charge but no need. They are getting outta the barrel in a hurry.

440 hard cast gc. 1650 with 37grs h110

388gr spire points pb. 1750 with 36grs h110

700gr hard cast. 1135 with 25grs h110.

Do you do a gas check? I've never done one. Is it hard to incorporate?

I use the noe (night owl) mould for the spire points,. He has a ton of weights for the 500. The 700gr I bought a mountain man mould. 440s are lyman..I gas check the 440s other are plain base. But I might buy another mould for the spire point that uses checks.

I also just bought the 485gr and 572gr moulds from night owl. Be interesting to see how they work out.

But I started Pan lubing and installing gas checks by running them through the sizer upside down after sizing. Saw that from fortune cookie 45 on YouTube. But I got tired of the time it took to melt lube, let Harden, punch out etc. That I just bought the lyman 4500 lube a sizer. I can size, lube and install gas check in one motion. Moocho faster.
