Shoot any cor-bon ammo through your 500 yet grit ?

I've loaded to max (working up of course) from the hodgdon data, and nothing I've loaded (H110, Lil Gun, H4227) comes close to shooting Cor-bon 400 gr and having black rubber from the grips pilled up in small bits in your hand.

Sure have, I've gone through a box of the 440gr CorBon hardcast...very serious loads. I felt like 35 grains of Lil Gun behind the Cast Performance 440gr gas checked slugs was pretty close, but I haven't tried H110 yet. The little black bits of grip left in my hand after I shoot these loads always remind me that I'm not ready for harder, more attractive grips that would leave bruises instead LOL I have some of the orange hogue ES model grips as well, but they just don't look as good as I thought they would on the JR 500.

I'm gonna order some of the 440gr LFNGC from Montana Bullet Works. They have a little longer nose/shorter shank than the WFNGC's, so hopefully the pressures will be lower...plus they're half the price of the Cast Performance bullets.

Hey Don, I loaded up some 440gr hardcast bullets in front of 10 grains of Trail Boss...who knew the 500 could be so mild?! The starting load @ 7 grains (643fps) would be even more gentle. My wife might get to shoot the 500 after all...Thanks for the recommendation.

These loads really bring out the power of the other loads that I was shooting.

Glad you like them, they're fun but while they are powderpuffs by 500 standards, they're still significant at the backstop. Don
