I have a 4" 547 in 85% condition. I am thinking of putting it up for trade for a 4" 610 prelock,mim ok. Are they of comparable value. Your input is welcomed.

It's a great shooter & 9mm ammo is way cheaper than than 38/357 or 10mm by far..

I can see keeping it if you want to have a great shooting revolver tthat uses relatively inexpensive factory 9 mm ammunition. On the other hand you can get a big head start on full retail for something else NIB by selling it.
FWIW, here's my track on the 4-incher:
Smith & Wesson 547 4" SB Revolver in 9 mm. Bluebook of Gun Values (29th Edition) indicates between $675 in 98% condition and $775 in 100% condition for this gun. I have 33 recorded prices using local and internet sources for this gun from $450 to $995 over a period of 1299 days ending April 25, 2008. The average price as of that date was $616. Current or last MSRP is $317.

I have one NIB 4", and in the next five years I say it will go up to $1000 bucks. I would hold on to it, and make a safe Queen out of her.

I like my 3" 547. Cheap ammo (relatively) and it has great handling characteristics. It has a couple of scuffs, definitely not a safe queen. Fun range gun for me. Surprisingly accurate at 15 yards. For "serious purposes" I don't trust the extractor mechanism, and I have other weapons that are more suited to that task.
All said, I'd keep the 547 and work on acquiring the 610 some other way. I love 10mm's too, and a 610 is one of my Grail List guns.
