Wood monogrips, yes!
Shells do not drop smoothly in as the grip keeps the HKS at a slight angle, but with some wiggling it can be accomplished. In a stress situation not recommended in my experience.
Just my opinion but Safariland loaders are superiore to the HKS. Single motion (insert) to accomplish loading, rather than the two (insert & twist) it takes for the HKS.
I used comp speed loaders with my Hogue (pre-rubber Hogue Monogrips) on my duty M19 & later M66. 357 ammo. I qualified with them, carried them. Worked pefect.
Yeah, they don't interfere on my model 19 either. I mostly use speed strips for my carry gun, 442. But I have speedloaders around the house for my Model 19.
