586-0 4 in. nickel

A family friend recently passed and his widow offered me his nickel 586-0 4 in. I've only seen cell phone pictures so far but it looks to be in great shape, although I don't know if there is a box or tools.
I would like to make a fair offer. Does $1000 seem like a good starting point?

That seems like on the high side of fair for just the gun, not unreasonable for whole package with all the trimmings.

I'd be more inclined to pay $800 for a nickel 586 w/o box etc. If box and docs/tols are included, $1000 seems appropriate, and depending on condition, maybe a little more .

I bought it for a grand. Her picture showed it with Packys and had the Targets off to the side and I think they are N frame grips. I was not a real problem when she said there's 8 boxes of .357 to go with it.
I'll probably look to make a trade for some L frame grips in the classified section soon.

Beautiful piece! You did good for a $1000. A 4” cherry blue 586 no dash will bring up to a $1000 without box.

These are beautiful and accurate revolvers. If I did not have this one I would shell out a grand for one.
