Came across a S&W 586-3, 4" in a LGS today. Has it marked at $595. I thought that was a pretty fair price. Only saw a couple of small nicks (looks worse in pictures). Everything else looks really good. Opinions?

I bought a -3 four inch 586 a few years back on this forum. The finish is sort of matte, they may have switched finishes midstream.

I paid $600 then. You got a good deal.

I need to get a pic.

Always keep a bore light and Feeler gauges in the glove box when these guns pop up.
Otherwise it looks like a good piece cosmetically for a shooter. After clean up she would look great

ewww no, thats worn out. please tell me the location of this LGS so I can take a closer look. ;)

I’d have already cleaned, polished her and be sitting in front of the tv dry firing it during a John Wayne or Clint Eastwood movie

Oh I’m glad I’m not alone in doing that.
My Grandpa does it as well and he’s 96!

I bought a -3 4 years ago for $500, but here in Kalifornia everything is more expensive. Looks great, enjoy.

Just for grins offer them $500 and maybe you can meet in the middle. I suspect your price doesn’t include sales tax so if you get it at $595 inclusive of tax I say take it home. You can add better grips later…….mine is a -5 that is my very first handgun. You can pretty it up as you go.

Congrats on a fine looking L frame. And in my favorite barrel length.
Here’s my used -1 I picked up at OKC show many moon ago. Bought just like it is now, same grips, etc. for $150. That’ll give you an idea of how long ago. :)
