LGS has 586-4 4" blue WV Conseravtion Officer Comm. in Glass covered pres. case. Not much for comm. guns but was wondering how the price of $650 would be compared to reg. 566-4. Dealer offered it to me for $600. What do you experts think? IMO, I like guns I can shoot.

Decent price for a 586-4 in great shape. I have no idea how rare the WV Conservation officer one is.
I saw two 586's today in commerative cases for police agencies today for right under a grand, NIB. I dont even normally look at them.

Unless you are a collector of the commemorative guns, I would steer clear.
The price is a little high to begin with and once you shoot it, the collectors will not want it and the non-commemorative collectors will pass because they don't like the insignia on their guns.
I see these often and they always seem to sit collecting dust. As far as the number made, you would have to call S&W but regardless, it won't add value.
