586 is here!

My new Gunbroker 586 arrived yesterday. I'm very happy with it, cleaned it and hope to get out to shoot it this weekend.
I have to ask you guys, does S&W always do a good job book matching the grips? I'm really impressed with these.

That is a newer, more pressed/laminated/man made grip, I would imagine...not the older, hand-fitted Goncalvo Alves. That is why they are so perfectly patterned and matched. I do not know a lot about the newer S&W grips, so it is just a guess.

Beautiful wood grips. Take the grips off and check the inside grain, it is real wood.

Here's a first year production 586 just for comparison, the stocks are original to the gun and are Goncalo Alves it's one of my best shooters.
