586 PIC THREAD ;)

Some say, 'the best gun ever'. The 586, Distinguished Combat Magnum.

My just acquired 1984 586 no dash. It is the first Smith I've seen with the trigger stop. I polished the internals and replaced the springs. The action is really nice.

Nice Pictures
Mike, I haven't shot it yet. It's my first 357, so I need to do some ammo shopping/reloading. I've found that drool works almost as good as Renaissance wax.

Someday I hope to build a light box and take better pictures than snap shots off the front porch.

Your pictures are nice! You'll love the 357.
The L frame with the full lug barrel just gobbles up the Magnums and asks for more

I have a 4" and I love it. I loaned it to my friend for some Range work and he doesn't want to give it back!

VM, If it turns out to be as much fun as my 625-4, I won't be able to stand it! Thanks for the photo comments, but there are really high standards set here on the Forum. I need to try and come close.

Clay - the best part about your pictures on the front porch.........................

I can't read your next post on how your wife whooped your ass for taking her bed-spread out side for gun pics!

Pretty Hi Tech Huh? It's actually a dirty towel I had at the deer lease this past weekend, so she didn't get too upset. We do go all out to use the best quality photo props possible.

Here's my 586 along with my much newer 3" 686 with the dreaded lock. I have had this 586 for about 3 years now. I am sure I have less then $300 in it. My first centerfire handgun was a 6" 586 which I never liked since it was so muzzle heavy. It got traded away for a Taurus .357 piece of junk that got traded away. This one won't be going anywhere. Talk about a nice shooter. I'm pretty happy with the 686 too considering it has the lock. I don't worry too much about the lock on the steel guns since there is less recoil due to the extra weight, and I usually carry my autos and reserve the round guns for the range.

AJ (hipowr) - welcome to the Forum and CONGRATS on your first post with PICTURES - good job!

Keep the post and pictures coming

Love this pic thread. Will have to take some pics of my PC 586 L-Comp. My first handgun was a 6-inch nickle 586 that I bought in 1982. Keep the nice pics coming.

I'm a K frame fan, but when the chance to pick up a 586 no dash came up, I made the jump to an L frame.

So far, I'm liking this one.

I wouldn't mind picking up a 2.5 inch one too.
