I have a 686-4, 4". I believe the -5's were the start of the IL models. Correct me if I am wrong pls. What dash was the last one before the IL for the 586? I might be looking for a partner for the 686. Thx for your help.

The SCSW says the M586-6 started in 1997 with MIM trigger and MIM hammer with the floating firing pin.
Then it says in November 1999 the M586 was discontinued.
Then it says, and I quote...
"2000: Special 7-shot with internal lock, October 2004, 4" & 6" WO WG RB."

My 1999 586 has MIM and says -5. Don't know about hand.

The 686-5 has MIM Parts, Floating Firing Pin, and NO LOC.
The LOC showed up on Dash 6 revolvers with the 686.
