5904 barrell question.

cleaned this nasty 5904 i bought up and the barrell was black,got everything cleaned up and on each side of the feed ramp 1/2 way up is a crack looking line on both sides,goes back to each side lug,is it just casting flash,my eyes aint what they used to be.thanks.

Just took down a 59, 469 and 3914 and see "tool marks" in the area you are talking about... marks left by the machining process. I don't know if that is what you are seeing or not. Look close, have a smith look close, or send to Smith and have them look close. Or post a pic and we will ALL look close.

thank you i looked again after a good cleaning,it looks like tool marks,same on both sides,ill have it looked at,if yours has it,im not worrying,cant take pics,tried before,wont upload,thanks for help.
