5906 Frame

I have a complete slide assembly for a model 5906 and all I need is the frame to make it a complete firearm . I have search all over and can't find a frame for this model pistol anywhere . Does anyone have a frame or know where I can get a frame for the 5906 ? Any info or help would be great .

The frame is the part that carries the serial number, and as such makes that a "firearm", not just a part.

IF you find one, it will have to be transferred according to federal, state and local firearms transfer laws that apply where you live. Out of state, it will have to be transferred through an FFL.

Bruce B the paperwork is not a problem . I am familiar with the shipping policy and buying policy of a firearm I just need to find out if someone has or knows where I can get a frame for the 5906 . Thanks for the input though . Any ideas on where I could maybe get one or maybe some frames from other models that will interchange ?

5906 would be stainless..... it's blue so maybe a 5904

Single sided safety and early/non-Novack transitional sights.........maybe a 915 upper.

Sorry for stating the obvious. We sometimes gets folks thinking they can just order up a frame from spare parts to complete a gun.

understand . So I was toatlly off about it being a 5906 ....... so you guys believe it to be a 915 ? This is good to know ..... thanks for the info .
So now the next question ..... lol ...how hard is it going to be to find a frame for the 915 ?

My Guess is ...."really hard"

Sorry..... I think finding a frame to build a handgun on is going to be tough.... a striped frame or complete frame.....is "the firearm"..... the only "frames" you generally see for sale are "AR 15 lowers" otherwise you are going to have to buy the complete gun and customize from there......

This is one of the reasons Performance Center guns are a good value........ you aren't buying a gun and then having to pay to "rebuild/customize" ........ while discarding what you "don't want"

Maybe find an inexpensive 5903/5906 and swap the slide out occasionally.

Will the 915 slide even fit on the 59xx frame? I seem to remember reading somewhere on this forum that there were some slide/frame machining changes made on the 915 to save production costs.

Not sure if you are still looking, but there are 2 stripped 5906 on Gunbroker right now.

Just looked $179 & $199/209............

Kapaco.....boy those frames are "stripped"..add the rest of the small parts,hammer,trigger,grips springs and pins, slide stop,mag release and mag. ...... I bet to build a "kit" gun would have cost you close to...... another $350 + what you had in the upper......

Edit:Just looked at a 5906 schematic...... looks like another 30-40 parts would be needed to get a complete lower.

You are better off buying another gun money wise, and have a spare slide.Agreed, doesn't look like a 5906. Just picked up a LNIB 910 & 908 for around $300ea.

This would be my thinking as well. Looks like a 915 slide, and you can pick up a used 915 off Gunbroker for an affordable price, maybe around $315 or so. Then you'll have a spare slide with a barrel already fitted to it if something happens.
